Hermie was born in Berlin in 1924 and came to the UK on the Kindertransport. He joined the British Army and towards the end of World War II, and wasin the Intelligence Service. He was sent to Germany to interrogate Nazi prisoners at a camp near Berlin. Martin Benedyk talked to Hermie so he could tell the incredible story of how he and his team found Hitler’s Will which had been discovered hidden in the shoulder pads of Nazi official Heinz Lorrenz who had been press secretary to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.
