Those who came to the evening to celebrate the ‘New Year’ for trees, once again this enjoyed this relaxing and special evening arranged by Bension. We heard why we call it a ‘Seder’ and we eat and drank in true Seder style – without the matzot!
We were given explanations of why we drink 4 cups of wine. From white to pale pink to pale red to deep red, everyone indulged. We had some readings and heard why we eat several types of fruit and other foods. Among the fruit laid out on the tables were melon, water melon, apple, pineapple, oranges, grapes, pears, strawberries and a selection of dried fruit – plenty for everyone and more.
This was followed by tree planting for the children – in pots on a table for transplanting later. The evening ended with some Ivrit songs and finally the Hatikva.
