We are a small group of dedicated ladies who arrange the Kiddushim each Shabbat and on Yom Tovim on a rota basis. We are also responsible for decorating the Synagogue for Shavuot and we always arrange a special lunch for the community on Simchat Torah.
In May 2016, our new Rabbi and Rebbetzin Feldman visited Bushey for Shabbat and we organised a Kiddush lunch after the morning service, which was enjoyed by over 400 members and was a great success.
We organised a Shavuot Afternoon at Cecil Rosen Court, the Jewish Blind & Disabled Building in Bushey, where the residents enjoyed a cheese cake tea and lots of laughs. We continue with our monthly Kiddushim there, which they all look forward to, especially the fish balls and herring!
We held a Kiddush lunch in the form of a cream tea to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. This was partly sponsored by Hertsmere Borough Council. The Pimms, sandwiches and scones were very popular.
We are looking for volunteers to join our Shabbat morning Kiddush rota. This involves coming 4 times a year and helping to prepare the Kiddush. It is a great way to meet people especially if you are new to the community or even if you just want to get involved.
