Bushey Shul National Lockdown Important Message

As you may have heard from the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday our country will enter into a National Lockdown later on this week. This will have significant implications for Shul services and activities and we therefore ask that you read the following information very carefully.

Shul Closure

Following on from the government’s announcement that services in places of worship must cease during this second lockdown, from Thursday 5th November 2020, our shul must close and cease running all Services and in-person activities (with the exception of the nursery and other limited essential volunteering and Chesed related functions).

We are acutely aware of the impact which this closure will make on those saying kaddish, celebrating a Simcha, or simply reliant on the enhanced quality to life which coming to Shul brings. For this we express our sympathy but hope and pray that, please G-d this short-term sacrifice, will play its part in the national effort to get this virus under control, protect lives and pave the way for a healthier and safer tomorrow.

Looking Backwards to Go Forwards

However, it would be remiss of us at this time of challenge to not look backwards at what we have collectively accomplished over the last few months since re-opening as a means of continuing our optimism for what the future will bring.

We have seen the unique relationship of trust and mutual respect between congregants and Lay/Rabbinic leadership which has enabled us to safely and securely run continuous Services for our community since July. You have played your part and we have played ours and together  we have baruch Hashem proven that our Shul is both Covid-Secure and able to offer a meaningful and uplifting  religious experience. We therefore are confident that after this temporary measure concludes we will once again be able to meet together soon.

Online Virtual Services

Since re-opening, our thrice-daily services and our Kabbalat Shabbat service have continued to have dual in-person and virtual platforms. We thank those who have played their part in keeping this provision strong and enhanced.

Beginning from Thursday morning all of our Services will continue exclusively online and we ask all who wish to partake in communal prayer to join us on the Bushey Zoom Channel:

Please look out for our weekly BOnline Schedule with all virtual programming.
