Barry Shooter is our Interfaith Convener for Bushey Synagogue.
I have been a member of Bushey Shul since 2008 after moving here from Romford where we lived for 35 years and were members of Romford United Synagogue.
I was chairman of Romford Synagogue for a few years, a board member and involved with the local Council for Christians & Jews. My wife Lesley and I have run mock Seders for a couple of churches. I ran the Yomim Noraim children’s services for many years in Romford.
I am a retired pharmacist although I still teach Pharmacy Management at the UCL School of Pharmacy. We have three married children who have produced our seven grandchildren and they all live nearby. Lesley is a retired psychotherapist and now studies metal sculpture at Morley College, Lambeth. We have a second home in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, where we tend to spend our weekends. We enjoy country walks and attending concerts and theatre.
Our intention is to consolidate our contacts with the different local faith groups and devise stimulating activities from time to time in which we can learn from each other. .
Our son Robert and his wife Claire who are in their forties and are members of the shul help us as we want to get younger people’s ideas. If any couples or individuals who would like to be involved, we would be delighted if you would contact us.
If you would like to contact Barry his contact details are Tel: , email: Barry Shooter
